Your Key Goals and Accountabilities:

  • Innovative Problem-Solving: Develop and implement data-driven solutions by analyzing large, complex datasets to tackle both current and future challenges. You’ll take a creative approach to problem-solving, simplifying complex issues and delivering feasible solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Global Data Science Governance: Oversee and enhance Data Science requirements and best practices across our Professional division.
  • Community Building: Help elevate our Data Science maturity, foster a global community, and promote the adoption of industry standards.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with various business teams, providing insights and leadership on Data Science strategies to uncover opportunities for value creation.
  • Data Strategy Development: Guide markets on how to leverage Data Science to maximize their potential within the Professional division.
  • Scientific Analysis and Insights: Perform and interpret scientific analyses across different regions, turning data into actionable insights on a global scale.
  • Data Management: Identify relevant data sources, assess acquisition costs, and enhance data collection processes to maintain high data integrity.
  • Machine Learning and Model Deployment: Apply advanced machine learning techniques for feature selection and predictive modeling, then industrialize pipelines to deploy models into production environments.
  • Effective Communication: Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and bring innovative Data Science practices to our team.

 

    Qualifications

    What We’re Looking For:

    We’re seeking a candidate who is passionate about excellence and accountability. If you’re ready to take responsibility, have a strong track record of driving impactful data science initiatives, and appreciate working within diverse teams, you might be the perfect fit. While we look at candidates holistically, here are some “Must Have” and “Nice to Have” attributes to help you understand our ideal profile:

    Must-Have Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • Experience: At least 5 years in combined IT and business roles, demonstrating strategic impact.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Proficiency in R and Python programming.
      • Experience with SQL and NoSQL database query languages.
      • Strong grasp of statistical techniques like regression, distributions, and maximum likelihood estimators.
      • Competency with machine learning methods, such as k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, and Decision Forests.
      • Knowledge of Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra for predictive analytics and optimization.
      • Ability to create compelling visualizations using tools like Power BI.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled at motivating teams and collaborating effectively with others, with high autonomy.

    Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

    • Industry Experience: Background in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods).
    • Out-of-Home Business Knowledge: Understanding of the Professional Out-of-Home business environment.
    • Alteryx Analytics: Familiarity with Alteryx for advanced data processing and analytics.
    • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to connect them to performance metrics.
