Jacobs Douwe Egberts Research and Development Application Center Asia is part of the Global JDE organization. R&D is the major contributor for developing Innovative coffee, tea and cereal beverage products that delight the consumer.

The product portfolio is constantly being optimized to address 3 pillars:

  • Innovation: consumers expectations through new products and channels
  • Sustainability & Wellbeing: global trends and concerns around energy & waste reduction to protect environment and reduce impact on climate change, On-pack regulatory compliance with nutritional guidelines.
  • Margin management: Support business needs to match certain price points while making no compromise on quality.

Projects are led in collaboration with Marketing, Manufacturing and Sourcing Departments.

The Packaging Artwork Specialist reports to the R&D Design Excellence Lead, within the R&D APAC organization.

The Packaging Artwork Specialist as in-house Artwork team, ensuring that packaging artwork aligns with brand positioning, market needs, and business requirements. Additionally, candidates will have the opportunity to learn and engage in artwork project coordination, colour management, printing technique and packaging knowledge.

The Packaging Artwork Specialist create high-quality ready to print artwork that adheres to brand guidelines and technical specifications, ensuring deliver on time in full.

RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Create packaging artwork for print
  • Develop artwork templates to streamline the creation process
  • Implement and manage artwork automation in systems to enhance efficiency
  • Technical Drawing Development
  • Plan and organize tasks to ensure all deliverables are completed on time and in full
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders to provide updates on delivery progress
  • Software Proficiency: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and basic Microsoft Excel
  • Create packaging artwork using brand guidelines, technical drawings, and print specifications
  • Create artwork templates for brand and artwork line-up planning
  • Set up specifications, content and rules into system for implementing artwork automation
  • Support R&D Pack team create / update technical drawing
  • Schedule and prioritize tasks to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide regular updates on progress and address any concerns.
  • Learning: colour management to achieve consistent quality from various print processes and packaging materials, including gravure printing on flexible material, offset printing on paper, and flexo printing on corrugated material

  • Academic Program: Degree or Diploma, preferably Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communication, Packaging Design, Printing Technology, Industrial Design, or Fine Arts (Digital Media/Illustration)
  • Experienced: Fresh graduates or above; relevant experience is an advantage
  • Skillset: Knowledge on Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communication, Packaging Design, Printing Technology, Industrial Design, or Fine Arts (Digital Media/Illustration)
  • Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
