We are looking for a coffee-loving New Business Development Manager in our Professional (out of home) business in Brisbane. Your main goal will be to expand our network of cafes and restaurants using our Piazza D’Oro coffee beans and related products, by making a prospect list, meeting with a prospect to show them our high-quality offering and how it can benefit them, negotiating the contract and onboarding this account.  You will use your coffee knowledge, barista skills and extravert nature to grow our network and the brand recognition of our Piazza D’Oro brand.

You will join an experienced and supportive QLD sales team who can help you gain valuable sales experience in the coffee industry. You will spend 4 days a week on the road hunting for new customers and 1 day in the office in Murarrie where you’ll get to work on your admin and share experiences with your team members. In this role, you will:

  • Hunt to convert and grow new accounts across the café and restaurant segment for the Brisbane Metropolitan Area
  • Teach prospects about our coffee offering, by organising cupping sessions, barista training, roastery tours etc.
  • Attend coffee networking events such as conferences, barista competitions and trade shows to develop new leads and build on your network
  • Manage commercial negotiations and prepare presentations and pitch to identified prospects
  • Coordinate the setup of new accounts including a site check, organising equipment requests and facilitating the installation date and first order
  • Complete a coffee quality check when a new account is installed to ensure the equipment and coffee are to the expected brand standard
  • Hand over the day-to-day management for new accounts to the territory Sales Specialist, approximately 3 months post-setup

Qualifications

This position is a great opportunity for a former barista or café owner who loves expanding their network and achieving commercial wins in the market.

For this role as a New Business Developer, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • You know and understand coffee and the art of making coffee – ideally through several years of working with or in the coffee industry as a barista, café owner, coffee trainer, coffee account manager etc.
  • You have a commercial mindset and you’re a strong negotiator who thoroughly enjoys the hunt for new accounts
  • You ideally have a network within the coffee industry
  • You’re comfortable working autonomously while on the road seeing customers and as a team
  • You have a driver’s license and valid long-term AU work rights
